When I was at the bench we had a Sakura coverslipper. The eager cytology aide
used it to coverslip that day's run of paps. The screeners said it was like
reading a roller coaster. In traditional coverslipping the mounting media
fills in the valleys, when there is no mounting media, only xylene as it
evaporates huge gaps are created.
