Toni,
We have had a fair amount of problems with the Leica TP 1050. We also have
a Tissue Tek VIP which is about 13 years old. We had another processor
approved on our budget for this year, and without a doubt, we will get
another VIP. It has been very reliable, and when we have had problems, it
has usually been due to user error, not a mechanical problem. There is a
new model coming out in June of this year (I think). It will have the
closed transfer system for changing reagents (as does the Leica). I really
think you should check out a VIP.

Subject: Tissue Processors
I'm currently looking to buy a tissue processor. I have had the Leica TP in
for a Demo as well as the Ventana. So far they fair well, the tissue is
fine, no problems cutting. I would like to know if anyone has any opinions
on these two, and also the Sakura. I haven't been able to get the Sakura in
for a Demo, and time is running out. I have to make a decision soon.
Thanks,
Toni
