Department of Northwest Regional Laboratory at St. Joseph Hospital in
Bellingham, WA has an immediate opening for a 0.8 FTE (32 hrs/wk) non-certified
Pathology Assistant. Shifts rotate weekly between 0700 - 1530 and 1230 -
2100, 4 days a week, full-time benefits. No nights or weekends.
Routine PA duties include: computerized patient registration and case
accessioning, assisting Pathologist with gross dissection, preparation,
organization and distribution of pathology and cytology cases, and autopsy
assistance. Responsible for routine maintenance and daily cleaning of
specified equipment including tissue processors, cryostats, chemical recycler
and filtration system.</SPAN></FONT></DIV>

accredited lab with 5+ Histotechs, 4+ Pathology Assistants, 2 Cytologists, 3
Secretaries, and 5 Pathologists. We average 70 cases/170 blocks/200 slides
per day; 12 autopsies per year.</SPAN></FONT></DIV>

candidate will be proficient in general computer programs, Human Anatomy, and
Medical Terminology. Prefer minimum of 6 months in Pathology Lab
setting. He/she will be dependable, organized, detail/task oriented, a
self starter, a team player, able to work in a fast paced/multi-tasking
environment, as well as possess excellent interpersonal and customer service
skills with a primary focus on providing a high quality
