Thank you to everyone who sent advice on using the Leica coverslipper for
PAP smears. We finally chose the following:
                 1)use Richard Allan mounting media
                 2) coverslip from histoclear instead of xylene
                 3) set the mounting media knob to '3'
                  4) set the coverslip knob to '3 or 4'
This has resulted in cleaner slides and fewer bubbles. Although the
permount also was good, we found we needed faster drying time for the
AUTOPAP. The readings on the Neopath/Autopap were within normal ranges.

Thanks again,
Pat Karlisch
