I have never encountered such an arrangement in my travels, or heard of one, 
though I suppose they may exist. As a matter of fact, I have rarely (if ever) 
seen the old cycle of sign out in the morning, gross in the afternoon, do 
clinical pathology late if at all - broken.

This is a piece of thinking the unthinkable that will probably have to be 
undertaken by the generation of pathologists to come. I shall be happy to 
miss it.
