    While we are on the topic, I have an interesting variation on this
question. Is there any qualitive way of testing to see if there is DAB in a
waste product? The DAB waste product is supposed to be separated from the rest
but it remains a brownish color. The waste collects the peroxide and the rest
of the IHC reaction products, so adding more of the same should not influence
the color of the product. So, I need another way of determining the presence of
the DAB. I certainly do not want to be incorrectly assuming the waste was
divides properly and discard it down the drain.
