Dear Histonetters

   I'm pleased to announce the May 15th meeting of the Idaho State
Society for Histotechnology. Our featured speakers will be Allen M. Gown
M.D. and Jane Bennett-Munro, M.D.
   Dr Gown's will be speaking on the "Use of Panels of Antibodies in the
Diagnosis of Solid and Lymphoid Tumors".  Dr. Gown is the founder of
PhenoPath Laboratories, former Professor of Pathology at the University
of Washington and founding Director of the Immunohistochemistry
laboratory at the University of Washington Medical Center.  His
laboratory has developed many monoclonal antibodies used for
immunohistochemical analyses of tumors, including HHF35 (anti-muscle
actin), HMB45 (anti-melanoma), 35BetaH11 (anti-low molecular weight
cytokeratin) and many others. Dr Gown has published over 170 full length
scientific papers and is the Assistant Editor of the Journal of
Histochemistry and Cytochemistry and Associate Editor of Applied
Immunohistochemistry.  He leads annual workshops and short courses in
immunohistochemistry under the aegis of the Americal Society of Clinical
Pathology and the United States-Canadian Academy of Pathology.
   Dr. Bennett-Munro will be speaking on Telemedicine with an emphasis
on Telepathology. Dr Bennett-Munro is a solo pathologist with more than
22 years experience at the Twin Falls Clinic and Hospital in Twin Falls
Idaho.  She went to medical school at the University of California
Irvine and did her residency in pathology at St Mary's and the Veterans
Administration Hospitals in Long Beach, California.  She is immediate
past Chairman of the Idaho State board of Medicine where one of the
major topics that she dealt with was Telemedicicne.  She has done a
rotation at the Armed Forces Institute of Pathology in Telephology. Her
talk will deatl with the history, developement, hardware and software
associated with Telemedicine and Telepathology.
   The meeting will be held at the Magic Valley Regional Medical Center
Education Center from
10am until approximately 4pm.  The cost of the meeting will be $30.00
and will include the meeting, membership, lunch and snacks.
