I have been following the Saccamanno info with interest. To make cell
blocks from the Saccamanno fixed fluid, I simply spin down the sample and
pour the supernatant off and wrap whats left in a lens paper wrap. I don't
wash with 95% or PBS. Just spin and go. I usually make a couple of smears
from the well mixed specimen before I spin. My cell blocks cut well and
seem to have processed completely.

Was it Lee Luna that said what works today may not tomorrow in Histology?
Maybe the same holds true of different labs--what works well in one won't
work the same in another??????
