I just found out formadehyde was - invented? - discovered? in 1859
and produced industrially in 1889 and reported as a fixative in 1893.
So we missed out on a big reason for a party.
Sometimes, life's a bitch! (is that politically correct?)
More to come on the formaldehyde story in due course.
