Susan,
We don't do this procedure often, but when we have we have not seen a
background on the entire slide. I think you might if you use slides with
more coating. Again we use the 1/2x slides. Also the reference for the Sudan
IV procedure that I use is from the Medical College of Georgia Staining
Manual as I got it from a histotech I worked with at the University of
Georgia and she trained at MCG.
