RE: Source for AEC chromogen
Dear Teri:
Just try the following protocol:
AEC stock solution: 1000 mg AEC (Sigma A5754) in 100 ml N,N-
dimethylformamide. Store in dark at 4C.
2.5 ml AEC stock solution + 45.5 ml Na-acetate buffer (pH 4.9, 50 mM)
Filter directly!
Just before use add 20 ul peroxide (30%).
Stain for 5-10 min at RT in a coplin jar.
This protocol yields stronger staining intensities than most commercial
available AEC based kit systems.
