Re: Citrate buffer
I use a Black & Decker Model HS2000 Vegetable Steamer which we ordered off the Black & Decker web-site ($40-50 US).  It even has a chart right on it with different times, depending on what is being steamed, although it does not have anything about slices of tissues on mounted on slides, so the chart isn't much help.  I steam 20 minutes (after it has preheated) in Coplin jars of pre-heated (in the microwave) buffer.

Hi Guys,
I would like to use heated citrate buffer as antigen retrival agent. Everyone keeps talking about a microwave or steamer or pressure cooker none of which I have (I don't live in the states so these things are expensive). Does anyone know of a method involving a simple heater or bunsen burner.
Thanks
Brenda B.
