So long as the off-topic material is so labelled in the subject line, it
causes no trouble for those who dislike it: it can be deleted in 1/4 of a
second.
Personally, I find discussions of Browning's error's in diction etc. welcome
relief from grading the papers of college students who haven't yet mastered
junior high school arithmetic.
