CPT for LEEP
From: | Priscilla <pdelvent@wyoming.com> |
I have always considered LEEP's to be in the same catagory as a cone and
charged level 5 or 88397. We usually receive a LEEP in 2 parts - the main
leep and then a "top hat" portion. I just considered the 2 containers to be
one specimen. Recently, we have a new pathologist and he is charging the
main LEEP specimen as a level 5 and the "top hat" as a level 4. It would
sure be nice if there were some all-inclusive rules about the correct charge
instead of worrying that the pathologist will be considered fradulent when
he charges something that isn't spelled out. My 2 cents----- :-)
