I have updated anti-virus software on my system, but still do not open ANY
attachments from people I do not know personally. Having automobile
insurance does not prevent accidents, and anti-virus software cannot
guarantee to prevent infection. In both cases the driver must be alert and
use defensive habits. Opening unknown attachments is not being defensive.

To put it another way, one must apply universal precautions.
