Gino,

In regards to your Eosin question, we use Richard Allen Eosin-Y. We can
usually stain about 1000 slides before we throw it away and use new.
Sometimes it takes us days to stain 1000 slides, sometimes weeks. It all
depends on our workload. You will be able to tell if your Eosin needs to be
changed because the slides will not look as vivid under the scope. We do
not run a control for our daily H&E runs, but we will if we are doing a
special stain. With Eosin-Y from Rich Allen, there is no need to add
anything to it, it comes pre-made. Boy, that sure beats the olden' days of
making your own staining solutions!
