Glass slides are best used for mounting less than 10 microns plastic
sections after using a plastic capable cutting microtome (Microtome & Knife
system).
Plastic slides are typically used for greater than 40 micorn plastic section
obtained from the Ground Histology process (band saw & grinding system) e.g.
EXAKT system.
I use both.
