on-call histotologists -Reply

From:Tony Henwood <AnthonyH@chw.edu.au>

Mary,

Yes, we are on call once every three weeks. We carry a beeper as well
as leave our home and mobile numbers with switch. Apart from urgent
frozens and special biopsy treatments, our processing machines and
-70oC freezer are also on-line to the beeper.

The payments are interesting, Technical officers receive nearly three
times the rate per day as science officers (SOs about $7/day)

Hello!

Does anyone have on-call histologists? If so, what are your guidelines &
salary for being on-call? Do you carry beepers or phones?

This subject rears its ugly head every now and then, so we are just
wondering what the rest of the world is doing...

Thanks in advance-
