This information can be found on the ASCP home page, under
the Board of Registry:

     http://www.ascp.org

1. Click on Board of Registry under the ASCP logo

2. Click on Certification

3. Click on Technologist/Histotechnologist

In a nutshell:

Route 1: BS from a regionally accredited college or university
with 30 credit hours (45 semester hours) of biology and/or
chemistry plus 1 year full time experience in the last 10
years under a ASCP certified (or eligible) pathologist or
appropriately certified medical scientist.

Route 2: BS from a regionally accredited college or
university plus successful completion of a NAACLS accredited
histotechnology program.

There is no backdoor/grandfather route.
