osmium replies
Thanks everyone for the osmium
replies. We did suggest using two
different pieces of tissue for the two different studies, however, our
opinion was asked only after the fact.
The tissue was fixed in glutaraldehyde then
postfixed in osmium. The EM procedures were done, then the tissue was
washed and placed in 70% ETOH. Now, we have it and are suppose to decal,
process, cut and H&E stain it. It sounds like the quality of these
sections will be poor, if at all. Gayle- we'll see if the EDTA will
work.
