Re: Histo staffing standards (??)
I'd sure like to know where this "staffing standard" came from. All I can
'assume" (and you all know what that means) is that standard came from the
clinical area of the lab, and we all know that most of that area is automated!
I'm hoping that Mike LaFriniere and his Productivity Task Force, can come up
some clearer staffing standards for us.

Histonetters:
I'm curious to know what your FTE status
is and how many blocks your organizations cut per year.
Recently, a "consultant" told our Admin.
that the "staffing standard" is 12,000 blocks per Histo Tech FTE along with 1
lab assistant for every 4 Histo Techs.
(we are a Private Lab, not a university
setting). What do you all think?
Thanks, Roxane
