Terry,

Several of our techs, including myself, gross the small specimens.  There is 
no compensation.  The job description just changed.  The pathologists 
recognize and appreciate the extra feature with words only.  And we do not 
get flowers during Lab Week, vs. the medical secretaries that discretly get 
flowers and candy from the pathologists the following week for National 
Secretary's Day.  Their reason:  "they get paid less, and do so much 
work..."   :-)
