Morphology of blood smears and peroxidase-rich tissues could be damaged by the aqueous hydrogen peroxide solutions. For such tissues, inactivate peroxidases by dipping the slides in 0.3% H2O2 in methanol for 10 min after during the dewaxing and rehydration step.
