Becky:

We have just purchased the Leica CV5000 because it uses the glass
coverslips. The demo model worked beautifully, however since our "real" one
came it has been one thing after another. I have been told that they don't
"travel" well and once they are properly adjusted they are great. Based on
the demo I would have to agree, but am getting a little impatient regarding
the bugs. I am confident, however, that these issues will resolved shortly.
The service reps have been terrific.

I understand that the Sakura is less trouble but you have the high cost of
the film and for some the need for glass coverslips is critical. I guess it
depends on your specific situation.

Good luck!

Subject: automated coverslippers

Hi everyone,

I am trying to find out everyone's opinion on the Leica and Sakura
automated coverslippers that are in use now.

The Leica supposedly uses glass coverslips vs Sakura using some sort of
tape.

Could you please discuss easy of use, convenience, and quality of the work
they do. A freind is interested in purchasing a coverslipper and these to
seem to be the ones he is interested in.

Thanks in advance,
