Mary,
We also use Lithium carbonate to blue the Hx in HE
sections. We dilute a saturated aqueous Lithium
Carbonate solution 1/10 in water. Other blueing
solutions, of course include:
Scott's Tap water substitute
Ammonia in water
Warm running tap water
Any slightly alkaline solution will do.
