I have done special stains by hand, on the ventana Special stain module, and
the Cytologix, all were good, however the cytologix allows me to increase
both heat and time to enhance my stains to my pathologists liking(all 7 of
them) allows me to stain 48 slides rather than 20, now I only need one tech
to do both IHC and specials instead of two, (no did not lose personnell) and
allows my staff and I to attend education, run overnite runs, helps with
vacations and sick time (short staffing) review new procedures and
techniques( IN-Situ, Fish) and we have increased our work load approx. 20%
without new personell( who can find Histo techs anyway?)
