We are also using the Leica CV5000.  We occasionally experience this.  I
think the problem is that the slides are too wet during coverslipping.  When
the clearant evaporates you are left with air bubbles.  The solution is not
to increase the mounting media but to decrease the excess clearant on your
slides.  Make sure to adequately drain the slides before you put them on the
coverslipper.  If you have any questions please feel free to contact me.  We
have had our coverslipper since 4/96.
