This message is for people who are currently teaching in an accredited
HT/HTL
School, or  who are thinking about establishing an accredited HT/HTL
program.

NAACLS (the accrediting agency for HT and HTL programs) is offering two
full-day
workshops on  Feb. 21, 2001 in St. Louis, Missouri, 8 AM - 5 PM.

THE ACCREDITATION PROCESS: STEPS THROUGH THE SELF-STUDY AND
SITE VISIT:
For a HT or HTL program to be accredited, the program must submit
documentation
of compliance with the the NAACLS Essentials (= Self-Study), and the must
have
2-3 people inspect the program and labs, and talk with everyone involved.
This
workshop will help you prepare all the required paperwork and prepare for
the site
visit.

This workshop is a help for: anyone who has to prepare for the Accreditation
process;  someone who has been told to "set up a HT/HTL school" and
doesn't know where to begin; or for program directors/education coordinators
who must document "knowledge of the accreditation process" (a NAACLS
Essential).

EDUCATION METHODOLOGIES:
This workshop explains eduation "jargon" and helps participants understand
and
properly write objectives in various domain and taxonomy levels, and write
evaluation methods (exams, check lists, etc.) that correlate these
evaluation
methods with the objectives.

Many of the NAACLS Essentials required for accreditation involve objectives
and
evaluation methods. Also, program directors/education coordinators must
document "knowledge of education methologies" (a NAACLS Essential). This
workshop is for someone who has never taken any education methodologies
classes, who must write the objectives and exams for the students, and for
those who must document knowledge of education methodologies.


Both workshops are $125 each. Deadline for registration is February 1, 2001.
