Dear Bill,
If no one can give you a readily available answer to identifying
the crystals, you might want to do an Internet search by using an
all-emcompassing search engine such as <www.dogpile.com>. I found it
interesting that calcium pyrophosphate is a by-product(?) of Technetium - a
radioactive chemical used in bone imaging and readily taken up by bones.
See: <http://nuc-med-read.uthscsa.edu/williams/NucMed/BONE01.HTM>
Perhaps you will be able to find a site that shows the different
crystalline structures.
Good Luck,
Linda
