How many slides will you be staining at a time? 

If only 1 or 2, how about using the plastic mailers that slides are
mailed in?
The rectangular ones that hold 4-5 slides.

They're cheap, most doctors offices have them already, they hold less
solutions so you won't have to make as much, they hold solutions very
well, and you don't mind throwing them out if and when you want to.
