Karen,
I have an old (1970) copy of "Diagnostic Histochemistry" by Frederick
T. Zugibe, with a protocol for Timm's Copper Stain, pp. 254-55.
My experience with the stain tells me you can stain for all heavy
metals (Zn, Fe, Hg, Cu, etc.) or select for Cu, but to selectively
stain for zinc, goes beyond my handle on chemistr. Of course, that is
not to say it can't be done!
If you want the method faxed to you let me know, I'd be happy to do
so. Greg
