Simple...give them choices.  If they don't want to wait, switch to DAB and permanently mount them.  If they want red instead of brown, then they have to wait to get the best quality slides, or they can accept the artifact that goes along with the rushed technique.  This is, of course, presuming you aren't interested in using a different substrate off instrument (not recommended in a high-throughput lab).  Have you talked to Ventana about their AEC?
