Re: Job opportunity in USDA on Plum Island

From:Douglas A Gregg

I have a new histologist position in research on foot-and-mouth disease and vesicular stomatitis pathogenesis work at Plum Island on the east end of Long Island, NY. I need someone to maintain a small pathology lab and do a wide variety of staining procedures from routine H&E, cryosections, immunohistochemisty, to TEM and in-situ hybridization or PCR. Wide experience would be nice but not required. I am willing to train a willing histotech.
The East End of LI is a beautiful rural tourist area surrounded by water. Work is on Plum Island in a high containment laboratory for animal disease research, with free passenger ferry rides each day.  There are ferries from Long Island and from Old Saybrook CT.
