Peter,
I perfuse mouse brain with a paraformaldahyde and glutaraldehyde
solution, but I don't use any vasodilators. As I understand it, it depends
on what you are going to look for in them. Some procedures can't have
heparin (which is what my old lab at Wash U used for some stuff), and some,
of course, can't have glutaraldehyde, either. I am doing a simple stain on
mine, after embedding in araldite, and sectioning at 1 micron for light
microscopy.
I've got a recipe, but it may be not at all what you are looking for
- hey, I'm still just a psychologist, what do I know?
