We have initialled slides for over 20 years. Rather than a trouble
shooting tool we use it as a training tool as we can assess the
progress of staff handling various types of tissues. We also use
it to trouble shoot.

Our pathologists find it invaluable to talk to the histotech who
handled the sections during microtomy if they require deepers etc.

We date and initial all the slides we cut.

Hi All,

We would like to know from those of you who have the Shurmark slide
labeling system, do you have the techs initial the slides they cut? If not
how do you troubleshoot errors? etc.

Those of you who do not have the Shurmark, are you initialling slides
or simply recognize the handwriting?

Thanks in advance,

Lynn Dize,
