Promoting the histological art, with emphasis on the histology of skeletal, neural and vascular tissue. Bone, primary visual cortex and blood vessel cells are highlighted in relation to skeletal metabolism, vision and processing of the visual scene by the brain and vascular histopathology respectively. Cell types discussed include osteoblast, osteocyte, osteoclast, stellate neuron, pyramidal neurone, erythrocyte, leucocytes, endothelial and pericytes. Links to sectioning methods and staining protocols, together with images and picture resources are provided.
