Thank you for your suggestions. In the mean time we tried what you
described and ended up in a reasonable result. We also fixed mice in toto
for several hours and after that performed a median section from top to toe
and let it fix for another several hours. Tissue penetration with paraffin
was ok. Colleagues from net argued that one should perform cryosections
from whole embryos. Up to now I didn't try, but it is on my list.
