Hi Jeanie,

I always use distilled water.  One problem with tap water is that it isn't
the same time and again, so you could be introducing problems just by
doing the same thing you've always done.  In my building for example, the
water smells like swamp water for large parts of the summer.  The city
says it's some sort of substance the algea in the supply water puts out
that isn't supposed to be harmful (it just tastes bad).
