Marilyn,
I remember attending a session by Coral Angus where she described a method
of boiling the tissues with detergent to rehydrate them. Also you can find
two references, one for detergent ( by Patsy Willard) and one for glycerin
(by Lee Luna), listed in the Histologic Archives on the Sakura Web site. The
direct URL to the page with the articles is
http://206.137.77.155/sakura/articles/19.htm. Like many good sites these
days the articles are in pdf format so they can be downloaded and printed.
You need Acrobat reader which is distributed free by Adobe and works for
both Mac and PC. There is a link to the Adobe site at the main Histologic
page and the URL is http://www.sakuraus.com/ASPages/Histo-Logic.asp. Hope
this helps.
