We use a simple 1% aqueous Toluidine blue technique. Stain in the solution for about 10-15 minutes, blot dry and mount.

Mast cell granules purple, rest of cells/tissue blue.

Can anyone recommend a stain for mast cells? The one we do just doesn't seem to be working as well as we'd like it to.
