I usually suspended the section in the cedarwood oil for adequate penetration. It usually took 4-5 hours to clear. Always wear gloves and do not lean over the container ( which I made the mistake of, got a great whiff of cedar...I about passed out). I have also used pear oil ( amyl acetate) to clear.
