Hi David,
I used cedarwood oil for clearing ground bone sections all the time. I
usually suspended the section in the cedarwood oil for adequate penetration.
It usually took 4-5 hours to clear. Always wear gloves and do not lean over
the container ( which I made the mistake of, got a great whiff of cedar...I
about passed out). I have also used pear oil ( amyl acetate) to clear. Jenny

Dear Histonetters

I am looking for some advice and comments as to the best way of processing
hard tissues. We are currently experiencing some problems with our bone
tissues.

We are considering clearing in oil of cedar wood. Does anybody have any
experience of this or procedures to share?

I have read in the histonet archive of people softening tissues in fabric
conditioners. Does anyone have any procedures to share for this method?

Regards
