index system-gremlins

From:louise renton

Dear all,

OOPS - friday afternoon gremlins crept into my message. What I wanted was
info on a system that would track/index specimens and their related
results. I know that several sophisticated acessioning systems exist
(CoPath, APEX etc), but I don't need that level. I have, for example seen
someone use Excell, but it looked awkward. Is there something better?
What I do need, is a programme that i can enter the data on - specimen type,
tests performed, results and then do a search to ask for "all samples of
tissue tested with morphogen X" and get a relevent list of those samples. At
the moment - all our data is listed in books, which makes collating data a
tad tedious. I hope that this is clearer.
