Well, I guess there are just three lovely ladies left out there who have 
not departed to sunny, laid back CA - plus Jim Macormick (and I bet 
he's on his way by now)
There are easier way of finding fungi in toe nails.  Send them to the 
microbiologists - they soak them in ptassium hydroxide and view them 
as "wet preps" and view under phase contrast.
Although knowing the microbiologists as I do, I suspect they simply drop 
the condenser on their mics and to hell with proper phase contrast!
