We are currently seeking qualified applicants for the position of
Research Associate to work in a challenging and diverse Histology
Laboratory.  Responsibilities of this position include wet tissue
trimming, routine histology procedures, laboratory equipment
maintenance, ordering supplies, quality control of work and database
entries, ensuring that all study schedules are met and that additional
sectioning and stains are performed in a timely manner.

The candidate must be a certified histotechnician, HT (ASCP) or
histotechnologist, HTL (ASCP) and have 5 years of relevant experience.
You must have experience in cryotomy, microtomy, embedding, tissue
processing, H&E staining, special staining and must be willing to work
with various animal species.  Experience in specialized procedures (GMA
processing/sectioning, EM processing/sectioning and TMA construction) is
desired.  Excellent communication skills and the ability to work
effectively with a diverse group of people are essential.  You must be
able to follow verbal and written instructions and have strong
organizational and interpersonal skills.  You must be able to work
independently with minimal supervision.  Basic computer skills (Word and
Excel) are required.  This candidate must be able to lift at least 10
lbs.
