nonviolence
I find comfort in the words of Ghandi in a time like this-
Lara
"i object to violence because when it appears to do good, the good is
only temporary, the evil it does is permanent. I do not believe that the
killing of even every englishman can do the slightest good to india."
(you can easily substitute palastinian/arab/israeli for englishman -
and israel/america/palastine for india).
"It is not that i am incapable of anger, for instance, but i succeed in
almost all occasions to keep
my feelings under control. Whatever may be the result, there is always in
me conscious struggle for
following the law of nonviolence deliberately and ceaselessly. Such a
struggle leaves one stronger
for it. The more i work at this law, the more i feel the delight in my
life, the delight in the
scheme of the universe. It gives me a peace and a meaning to the
mysteries of nature that i have no
power to describe"
