xylene substitute
From: | Cathy Mayton <Cathy@wasatchhisto.com> |
I have used Clear-Rite 3 for well over 6 years on my VIP with no problems.
I did not even change the amount of time the tissue was exposed previously
in xylene which became Clear-Rite 3 stations . I too use xylene in the
purge cycle on the processor in order to avoid problems. Clear-Rite 3
works great even for bone. The bone does not seem to get brittle when
processed in Clear-Rite 2 as it does in xylene.
We coverslip using Eukitt which is only miscible in xylene so Clear-Rite 3
is not used for coverslipping. Each lab has its own preference so you may
want to try a couple of xylene substitutes that sound good to you.
Good luck!
Regards,
Cathy
