Bonnie,
CD138 is quoted as a Plasma cell marker I've just ordered it from RDI cat # RDI-MCD138-2812 price $375 this one reacts with mouse plasma cells. Check out J. Histochem Cytochem 35:1079-1088 (1987), and The American Society for Biochem and Molecular Biology, Inc, Vol 271,no.31, August 2, 19996 pp. 18759-18766 " suppression of Syndecan-1 expression in endothelial cells by tumor necrosis factor-a". it is also on normal epithelial cells. It is quoted as working in FFPE tissue but I haven't tried it yet....

Elaine,
I think that you mean syndecan-1...... I use one from Serotec and it works
very well using steam HIER and the Dako Envision + kit with a 1:400 dilution
and a 30 minute primary incubation.
Good Luck!!

Dear Histonetters,
Would anyone know of a vendor that sells an antibody called "syneecam" (this
may be misspelled) Also it could be called Antibody 138. It supposed to
stain plasma cells I think. One of our hematopathologists wanted me to
check into it.
Hope to find one that works on paraffin embedded sections.
