Operations Coordinator for Mohs Surgery Laboratory


The Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC) Medical Center, South Carolina's premiere tertiary care Hospital and School of Medicine located in beautiful, historic Charleston, SC, has an immediate opening for an experienced technical coordinator for its Mohs Surgery Laboratory.   Situated in downtown Charleston,  the medical center's geographical location offers all of the amenities of the southeast's vacation playgrounds while maintaining ready access to the city's finest dining and cultural events.

The successful candidate for this position will be a self-starter capable of supervising an experienced staff of three in a busy Mohs surgical service that provides technical support to two Mohs surgeons operating simultaneously. This individual will possess technical expertise in the preparation of high quality frozen sections of skin and adjacent tissues, as well as a proven track record in day to day operations management and problem solving, compliance with all laboratory accrediting agencies, familiarity with billing compliance issues and QA and CQI activities in a busy clinical department. Candidate must be customer service oriented and equipped to meet the needs of this busy surgical service while ensuring that the highest standards of excellence are maintained for the delivery of patient care at the medical center.

A B.S. degree in Medical Technology, or one of the biological sciences with a minimum of five years experience in a Mohs laboratory setting is required. Relevant registry certification,  HTL or HT(ASCP) strongly preferred.

Salary for this challenging position is commensurate with experience and prior accomplishments.
