RE: Dewaxing slides

From:jeff and wanda gray <jefwan@InfoAve.Net> (by way of histonet)

I have had some antibodies completely lose antigenicity after holding
overnight, and some have had no problems at all. It will simply depend on
the ab. CD markers are the worst in my situation. PanKeratin and S-100
lose the least

Subject: Dewaxing slides

Hi histonetters

Has anyone had any experience with loss of antigenicity in slides that have
been dewaxed and either left soaking in water/buffer overnight or allowed to

The reason I ask this is that we are moving to an automated IHC sytem in the
near future and will be dealing with a lot of slides and a short turn around

Any input appreciated
