I also would like to say something about this topic. As far as I know, there
are no histology training programs in Japan (if I am wrong please correct me,
Histonetters in Japan). I have been utilizing histology techniques for my
research activities since I was 18 years old. Basically, I learned everything
by myself. I read textbooks and research papers and I came up with my own
protocols. I have been in the USA since 1983 for completing my education,
postdoctoral training, and real jobs. I had chances to see how people prepared
samples for histology at so many laboratories. It was obvious to my eyes that
everybody had their favorite ways to do things for histology. I understand how
important education and certifications But, the bottom line is the final
products. If one can not produce "quality" data, education and certifications
don't mean much to me.
